Best 10 Upcoming Mobiles In May 2021: List of all upcoming smartphones in India with expected specifications, release date, related news, and other latest mobile phones.
1) Google Pixel 5a 5G

Google’s Pixel 5a is set to succeed the Pixel 4a this year. While the launch is slated for later this year, it’s worth setting our expectations now that we’ve had a taste of what to expect from this year’s affordable Google Pixel smartphone.

Google first launched the Pixel series almost five years ago. Much distant from the erstwhile Nexus series, the first-gen Pixel and Pixel XL were presented as premium products to compete against the iPhone and Samsung’s flagship series. The Pixel series — as the name suggests — is meant to deliver high-quality smartphone photography, which is primarily achieved using machine learning algorithms to enrich images. But without any distinctive feature to offer or a reliable track record of making trendy smartphones, Google has struggled to ensure profitability in the smartphone business.

Google Pixel 5a 5G: Expected Release Date

The Google Pixel 3a was unveiled at the Google I/O 2019 developers conference, held in May of that year, and the Pixel 4a was expected to be released around the same time in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, threw a wrench in these plans and led to the cancellation of a physical Google I/O event. The pandemic also delayed the usual launch timeline for the products, and the Pixel 4a was launched in August 2020 instead of May. Later on in October, at an online event, Google also announced the Pixel 4a 5G alongside the more premium Google Pixel 5.

Although rumors about Google canceling the Pixel 5a due to global chip shortage circulated on the internet briefly, Google overruled them and confirmed that the Pixel 5a 5G is indeed coming later this year. The company also confirmed the schedule of this launch would be “in line with when last year’s a-series phone was introduced.” Whether that means Google will launch it in August i.e. a year after the Pixel 4a’s launch or in October 2021, which marks the anniversary of the Pixel 4a 5G’s launch.

9) Oppo Reno 6 series

Oppo Reno 6 leaks are pouring in by the dozen. After the initial rumor that hinted at the existence of the Reno 5 series sequel, regulatory bodies are now showing the evidence. China’s 3C and MIIT certification websites have now listed the Reno 6. While getting certification is a part of the process to bring new phones to the market, it does reveal interesting information about the upcoming phones. The listings now hint that there may be three smartphones in the Reno 6 series. And one of them may rock a Snapdragon 888 processor inside.

The three phones are codenamed PEPM00, PEXM00, and PDNM00. The first model has appeared before on Geekbench, and it expectedly belongs to the upcoming Reno 6. The Oppo Reno 6 series will have three phones under it. The vanilla model may come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor and 65W fast charging. This set of specifications seems good enough considering that the processor is MediaTek’s most advanced chipset. And while it may bring more power to the phone, Oppo’s Reno 6 series may have a flagship phone.

There may be a Reno 6 Pro+ in the series and this phone may be powered by the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. This will be the first time the Reno series will have a high-end chipset. And while that is a hint that Oppo may be planning to make the Snapdragon 888-powered phone more affordable, it begs to ask the position of the Find X series. The latest Find X3 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, in line with some other premium phones.

10) Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

Samsung is working on the Galaxy S21 FE, which should be the successor to the successful Galaxy S20 FE from last year, and launch at some point in the next few months. The S20 FE was a sort of 'flagship killer' device from Samsung itself, and it looks like the company will want to reprise its success.

It turns out, however, that it plans on doing that with the exact same battery capacity. Rumor has it the Galaxy S21 FE's battery has the model number EB-BG990ABY, which is what you'd expect given that the phone's model number should be SM-G990B.
